Setting up an efficient kitchen

Aren’t you tired of skipping your breakfast or paying unnecessarily in your office cafeteria and still claiming to have an unhealthy diet?

I have always felt that it is very difficult to maintain a perfect balance between my work and domestic life. And I am sure any working women feels the same way.

Being a woman is not so easy. Whether she is single or she is married, she is expected to meet all aspects of life like a superwoman. When I initially planned to set up a kitchen for a smart woman(of course, I am talking about myself. wink), I wanted to have everything I spotted in a kitchen appliance store.

But, I had budget constraint too. With this post, I am trying to help you to pick up the must haves. Remember, you are not going to replace them frequently. So, it’s wiser to choose ones that would perform well in the long run.

Double Door Fridge

It is the kitchen essential undoubtedly or may I say an unspoken kitchen essential since years. Choose a double door one with the freezer unit at the bottom. Believe me, your back would say thanks!

I always keep cut veggies, batters, homemade ginger garlic paste etc. in my fridge which helps me to prepare my breakfast quickly in morning.

Quick tip – In summer, store your lip colours in the fridge to keep them in pristine shape

Find double door fridges with bottom freezer unit here.

Cold Press Juicer

I can not survive without a glass of juice every day. Technology has evolved in few years and these days we have cold press juicer available in the market which can squeeze the juice out of whole a whole fruit.

So the burden on cutting fruits into pieces are gone. Isn’t it time-saving?

Check out my favourite cold press juicer

Pop Up Toaster

Who doesn’t love a crispy browned toast with butter, jam or peanut butter? Maybe you’re craving for an English breakfast over the weekend!

As a working woman, I find a toaster indispensable as it does the job effortlessly.

My simple but efficient pop-up toaster.

Hand Blender

Gone are the days when we used to spends hours on preparing the batter and used our hands to blend eggs or even whip a cake mix. I am a smart woman and would any day prefer electric blenders over my hands.

You can prepare your lassi, breakfast smoothies directly into the serving tumbler. Save time and be efficient.

My favourite hand blender.

Electric kettle

For someone whose morning does not start without a cup of green tea or black coffee, electric kettle helps to boil water in no time.

Quick Tip – Choose a stainless steel one with a covered heating element. You can even boil milk and make soups in these.

My favourite electric kettle

Microwave Oven

It helps me to both reheat cooked food and do the actual cooking. It helps me to cook so many dishes with minimal effort.

I don’t have to keep a check on my food every 2-3 minutes. Food is prepared as per timer. The microwave oven has made my life so easy and cooking so interesting.

Make your pizzas, grilled meat, lasagne, etc in this. I don’t have to run to restaurants for every food items I love. It is really easy to clean as well.

Quick Tip – Choose one with convection. It helps in the browning of your cakes, grilled meat, etc.

My favourite microwave oven.

Induction Cooktop

It is an alternative of gas stove powered by electricity and is really versatile. I don’t use it on a daily basis now.

I use it only in case of emergency when my gas refill is over, but I have used it for 3 years continuously and it is super easy to handle.

The cooktop which has stood by me over the years.

Food Processor

This kitchen essential is similar to a blender. This is better than a blender and comes with multiple attachments and helps to do multiple kitchens works such as grating, blending, chopping, mincing etc.

You may call this as the Swiss Army Knife of a modern kitchen. Get this and you would not need to get a blender, mixer, grinder, etc. à la carte.

The food processor I cannot live without.
